Equipped with 3D cam­eras, Magazino’s mobile robots are now pick­ing side by side with humans in sev­eral shoe ware­houses. For the first time, a man­ual process in e‑commerce logis­tics, which used to be far too com­plex, can be flex­i­bly auto­mated with autonomous robots. The use of arti­fi­cial intel­li­gence and numer­ous sen­sors enables the robots to work in man-made envi­ron­ments. But what hur­dles had to be over­come on the way? How do you develop tech­nol­ogy that has never existed before? And how do inno­va­tions suc­ceed when time, money and per­son­nel are con­stantly in short sup­ply in chang­ing constellations?
