We have more than 70 developers coding thousands of lines of code into one release. We have a team of QA-Engineers checking it. After that, you are responsible for the release — rolling it out, getting feedback about it, and improving it further. Instead of focusing on only a single area of robotics, you will have a full overview of our entire software stack and how everything fits together.
Your tasks
- You are in command of the software state on our robot fleet at the customer sites and make sure that new software releases get rolled out swiftly while maintaining high-quality
- You know our customers well and understand which new features are needed where — to provide valuable insights into how we should prioritize our development work
- You love to communicate across departments, for example, to create and maintain a release rollout plan with all involved parties (customers, project managers and developers)
- You continuously monitor the new release by creating statistical performance evaluations and clustering error cases — and coordinating fixing them.
- You help prioritize our bug backlog, organize the testing of potential fixes, and lead improvements through our backport process to improve the resulting problem clusters
- You coordinate an A/B testing plan for new features and manage the corresponding feature toggles
- You develop scripts and tools to automate and assist you through the different stages of the release process
Your profile
- You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in robotics, computer science, industrial engineering or mechatronics or a comparable degree
- You have at least one year of experience in a hands-on mobile robotics project
- You enjoy discovering patterns in how software behaves with several customers and can make these patterns visible by number-crunching, your effective analytical skills and your eye for detail
- You have some knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System), Linux, and at least one programming language (ideally Python or C++)
- Nice to have:
… — Experience with building automation tools (preferably Jenkins) and understanding of software deployment process and the SDLC
… — Experience with statistical analysis and plotting tools - Fluency in English is required
