Supply-by-Robot for factories

Saving costs - minimizing inventory – fast and dynamic material flows. These are key objectives when optimizing logistics processes within companies. Due to dynamic material requirements, supplying materials is mostly carried out manually. With SOTO, storage and retrieval of small load carriers (SLC) and boxes can gradually be automated.

SOTO

Instead of a tugger train or hand cart, SOTO can provide the SLC filled with the raw materials needed directly to the assembly line. By networking SOTO with existing production processes, a synchronous material supply can happen just-in-time. SOTO can be prepared to adapt dynamically to other vehicles and humans and can react to a changing environment.

Stowing in picking zones

While pickers compile the customer orders, a minimum inventory of items must be kept continuously. SOTO can maintain the storage processes by stowing SLC or boxes onto shelf racks. Stowing can either be carried out at night before the shift begins or while people are still picking. Another application involves consolidation of boxes. During current operations, SOTO can re-sort residual SLCs and boxes for optimal storage utilization.

- Max. object dimensions 600mm x 400mm x 400mm
- Max. picking weight: 15 kg
- Number of SLC per robot: 4 - 12
- Rotation SLC: 90°
- Picking/stowing in live-storage shelving: yes
- Min. height above ground level: 50mm
- Max. height above ground level: 2460mm

Handling of cardboard boxes

Another application of SOTO is the handling cardboard boxes e.g. in distribution centers of fashion online retailers. While pickers compile the customer orders, a minimum inventory of items must be kept continuously. SOTO can maintain the storage processes by picking up new cardboard boxes from conveyor belts and stow them onto shelf racks. Stowing can either be carried out at night before the shift begins or while people are still picking. Another application involves consolidation of boxes. During current operations, SOTO can re-sort residual boxes for optimal storage utilization.
